He didn’t play in the NBA for long but Greg Oden of the Portland Trail Blazers is still spoken of to this day.
Frankly, he isn’t spoken of in the happiest of terms but many Trail Blazers fans still hold a special place in their hearts for Oden, who never got a chance to shine as he should have.

Oden, who hasn’t played in the NBA since 2014, is still all about basketball even though his professional career never took off.
As Legion Hoops pointed out on Twitter, Oden is currently the Director of Basketball Operations for Butler University.
Oden’s NBA journey didn’t turn out as he wanted so it’s great to see that the man can still participate in the game he loves so much.
Back in 2007, Oden was selected as the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Blazers.
Just months later, he underwent microfracture surgery in his knee and missed his entire first season as a result.
When he finally did enter the league, he never lived up to his expectations and was averaging 8.9 points and 7 rebounds in his first actual season.
More injuries followed and eventually, Oden was waived by the Blazers after only playing for a second and a half with the team.
He took three years off and would later be signed to the Miami Heat but only participated in 23 games with an average of only 2.9 points a game.
After some time overseas, Oden settled into a post-professional career and is now helping young players perfect their games and reach their potential.
It looks as if Oden is quite happy in his new role and you can’t blame him: he might not be an NBA superstar but his professional life still revolves around basketball.
